MOLDRISE
You wake up in a filthy apartment building with one problem that matters more than dignity:
Your left foot is infected.
It’s glowing. It’s itching like hell.
And something inside you is screaming one clear instruction:
GET TO THE ROOF. GET TO THE ROOF. GET TO THE ROOF. GET TO THE ROOF. GET TO THE ROOF. GET TO THE ROOF. GET TO THE ROOF. GET TO THE ROOF.
MOLDRISE is a first-person narrative horror adventure with survival elements.
It was made for the NOISE JAM 2!
Fight thirst, hunger, and your monstrous foot fungus while climbing a building that feels more alive the worse your infection gets.
The residents won’t save you.
But they do have things you need.
If you’re willing to do favors.
If you’re willing to pay.
If you’re willing to walk back down six floors for a bag of KRAZY Kraunchy Nutz.
And if you’re not?
You’ll die alone. Itching the whole time.
What to expect
-
First-person narrative horror in a disgusting, claustrophobic apartment building
Survival pressure: manage thirst, hunger, and worsening infection
-
NPC encounters told through dialogue only - no cutscenes, no narration, just faces in doorways and things they shouldn’t know
-
Barter your way upward: trade favors, scavenge supplies, and choose your rewards
-
Body horror with a stupid problem that becomes a serious one very fast
-
One objective: reach the roof before whatever is happening to you finishes happening
You are not going up there because you want to.
You are going up there because something in you needs it.
MOLDRISE is gross, tense, and darkly funny. Like scraping mold off a wall and realizing it’s scraping back.
Good luck. Don’t scratch.

beat it first try cus my first instinct was to go down and try to leave to go to a hospital lol. and also not sure if this was intentional but you can go to the doctor person multiple times despite her saying not to come back, so i maybe cheated a bit by stocking up on the lotion from her
Oh thanks for letting me know! That's a new bug...
Not sure if it's on my end, but the audio is only working in the intro and pause menu in the downloaded version.
I had audio issues too, but only with the Linux version. Audio would cut out within a minute or two of playing.
I uploaded a patched version, can you check if you still have this bug?
Thx, but no change. Video here: https://discord.com/channels/779062815020679208/780023001612681256/1480970935338...
Such a good atmosphere. I loved the texturing, sound design and everything, in fact!
I’d love to see a behind-the-scenes where you show how you achieved the look and shaders.
I played the Windows version through wine because the linux build was not yet available, but it ran perfectly smooth.
did not manage to finish the game. Tried around 5 times. Every other attempt janitor just won't open at all, even after going to the exit of a roof. It seems like if you ignore his door and complete old lady's quest, janitor breaks. Still really liked the atmosphere and art styl
Oh damn. That could actually be a correct assumption. I will check for that bug tomorrow!
Loved it! Are you thinking about a full release? I feel like it has huge potential.
Very good atmosphere.
Great straight-forward game.
Only feedback, i feel like the music is too "upbeat", either silence or something more eerie would work better. I ended up muting it. Not that it's bad, it just doesn't fit imo.
Otherwise great game, good controls, feel (camera effects), audio (very good), visuals, all that.
Thanks for the feedback! 🤩
Nice visuals, cool premise.
I couldn't beat it on my first try, I needed to play it twice so I knew in which order to access the doors. After that it was a breeze.
That's the way it is meant to work 👍 glad you made it!
Playing in the browser (firefox on linux) there is a constant phantom upwards push to the mouse. It very quickly hits the gimbal lock and then you can only stare at the ceiling.
weird, no issue for me on firefox/linux, played the game to the end
Nicely executed like usual! Great visuals
Nice concept!
You can knock on the doors from the floor below. Pretty convenient :D
The game feels good but I think the music could be more scary to create more suspense.
